STEERS ARE FUN !!

Once I got started halter breaking and having the steers shown, it really turned into the most enjoyable part of raising Longhorns! Gone are the days of disappointment when a calf crop yields more bulls than heifers. Each of these guys has been individually selected for disposition, color and horn growth ~ and yes,in that order! Some are halter broke and some are not ~ all are docile. Rest assured that if he makes it through the halter breaking period, then he will be of sound mind and gentle nature. If not, they are moved right over into the Longhorn Beef program without a second thought.
Everybody loves a beautiful steer! A few of them are not for sale ~ Call Down The Thunder (Buddy),Texas Jack 88 and Terrence ~ as they will remain here making up my own Trophy Steer herd.
When contemplating making a show ring debut, lots of people automatically begin looking for a heifer. While this usually works, the problem with heifers lies in that stretch of their lives when they are old enough to come into heat but still too young to breed. They certainly can get unruly! Let me help you select just the right steer, whether you are looking for a unique pet or a show prospect to learn with. Steers are great!
